ROYALTON

Speeding car damages fire company's parking lot

Niagara County Sheriff's deputies were called to Wolcottsville Fire Co., 6337 Wolcottsville Road, on Monday for a report of parking lot damage.

Company President Robert Groff met up with deputies and reported that sometime between 1 and 5 p.m. Monday someone had damaged the parking lot pavement with a vehicle. The deputy said it appeared the vehicle drove into the parking lot at a high rate of speed and did several donuts, causing about $800 damage.

An older model Monte Carlo was seen in the area, Groff said, adding he would contact deputies if he received any additional information about the vehicle.

 

Niagara Falls

• ARREST: A Hamilton, Ont., woman was arrested after a shoplifting incident at a store in the 1500 block of Military Road at 8 p.m. Sunday. Elizabeth Lewis, 55, 108 Limeridge Road West, was charged with petit larceny. Lewis is accused of taking more than $17 worth of merchandise without paying for it.

• VANDALISM: Officers are looking into a dangerous act of vandalism in the 1700 block of Welch Avenue. An 83-year-old woman told police that sometime between 8 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday someone removed all the lug nuts from the left front tire of her car.

Cambria

• THEFT: A North Ridge Road man reported to Niagara County Sheriff's deputies on Thursday that sometime over the past month someone had taken $250 from a dresser in a home office. The man said he had been staying at his sister's home after a medical procedure but had been checking the home periodically but didn't notice the money missing till Wednesday. The matter was forwarded to investigators.

Buffalo

• DWI: Jaclyn N. Gesicki, 28, Lockport, was charged with DWI, failure to keep right and refusal to take a breath test last Wednesday in the City of Buffalo. According to New York State Police.

    Police are investigating a theft from a convenience store in the 2600 block of Niagara Street. A clerk told officers that four suspects, two males and two females, entered the store at 5:32 a.m. Wednesday and one of the women brought several items to the counter and paid for them with a New York state benefit card.
