WILSON

Break-in attempt at Lakeside Market

Double steel doors were found with pry marks and damage to the door and door frame in what appeared to be an attempted break-in just after 3 a.m. Wednesday at the Wilson Lakeside Market at 337 Lake St.

No entry was reported, but damage to the steel doors was listed at $2,000, according to the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office.

An incident report said an audible alarm had sounded and an exterior sliding glass door was found ajar. However a steel security bar stopped the interior door from being completely opened.

An alarm company told deputies that it received a report for tampering of the business’ phone line and an additional alarm for the receiving door on the northwest corner.
