• SHOOTING: Police are investigating a shooting in the 1700 block of Pierce Avenue. A 29-year-old man told officers he was driving in the area at 3:22 p.m. Wednesday when he was shot at. Officers said they saw bullet holes in the victim's 2003 Chevy Tahoe SUV, but the man was not hit by the gunfire. Witnesses said the gunfire came from a green SUV that had pulled up next to the victim.
• SHOOTING: Police are also investigating a shooting in the 2900 block of Greenview Terrace. Officers said they were at an unrelated call in the area, at 1:20 a.m. Thursday, when they heard what sounded like three or four gunshots nearby. A witness told police that earlier in the evening there had been a fight at the Elks Lodge on Highland Avenue. The loser of that fight then showed up on Greenview Terrace and began arguing with a man. As a large group of people began to gather, another fight broke out there. As the fight escalated, four shots were fired and all the people involved in the melee ran from the area. No one was apparently wounded by the gunfire.
• VANDALISM: Officers are looking into an act of vandalism in the 900 block of James Avenue. A 54-year-old man told police that sometime between 12:45 and 1 a.m. Wednesday someone egged his house and broke the driver's-side mirror off of his 2002 Ford Econoline van.
• ARREST: A Falls woman was arrested after she stabbed a man during a domestic incident in the 1600 block of Eighth Street. Valeria Annette Alexander, 64, 1618 Eight St., was charged with second-degree assault, second-degree menacing and second-degree harassment. A 57-year-old male victim said Alexander "cut my stomach." Police said the victim had lacerations and a puncture wound to his abdomen. Alexander told officers she had stabbed the victim in "self-defense."
