BLOTTER: Police reports published April 22


The woman was evaluated by first responders at the scene and found to be uninjured. A relative from Niagara Falls met her at the scene and took her to his home, where she will be staying. Firefighters fought the fire for nearly an hour.

• SHOOTING: Detectives are looking for a suspect and a victim in a shooting that took place in the 2700 block of Highland Avenue. Witnesses told officers that they saw a man shooting from a silver SUV at the corner of Highland and Garden avenues at 2:25 p.m. Thursday. The suspect initially fired from inside the vehicle and then got out of the SUV and continued to fire at man wearing an orange shirt and white hat. The shooter then got back into the SUV and drove away, east bound, on Garden Avenue. Video capture by a nearby surveillance camera shows the shooting taking place. It also shows the victim running across Highland Avenue and getting into a silver Chevy Tahoe. The victim, who was still being shot at, then hits the rear end of a parked car as he attempts to pull forward in the pickup truck. When the shooting stops, the victim flees the area, in the pickup truck, driving north on Highland Avenue. The pick-up truck was later found in the Monteagle Ridge Estates.

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 400 block of College Avenue. A 56-year-old man told officers that sometime between 7 p.m. Wednesday and 5 p.m. Sunday someone broke into his home by shattering a glass window on a rear door. The victim said two flat-screen TVs, two gym bags, a silver service set, a large quantity of jewelry were taken from the house. The electric meter to home was removed and a 2011 brown Mini Cooper was taken from the garage on the property.
