BLOTTER: Police reports published Nov. 11

Detectives say a 24-year-old male from Lockport was struck by gun fire and died a short time later.

• CHARGED: Nicholas P. Alfieri, 19, 104 Carmen Road, Amherst, was charged with possession of a controlled substance and moving from a lane unsafely about 6:45 p.m. Friday, according to sheriff's deputies. A deputy said while Alfieri was turning onto Chew Road from Saunders Settlement Road, he almost struck the deputy's patrol car. After being pulled over, Alfieri said he missed the road because it was dark out. The deputy said he could smell marijuana and had Alfieri exit the car at which point he turned over a pill marked “M 100” which turned out to be morphine. A “bowl,” commonly used to smoke marijuana was also found in the car’s center console.

• DWI: Mark J. Berube, 50, 6998 Shawnee Road, North Tonawanda, was charged with DWI, moving from a lane unsafely and speeding about 1:30 a.m. Saturday, according to sheriff's deputies. Berube was stopped on Ward Road after being spotted driving 72 mph in a 45 mph zone. When the deputy approached Berube, he had blood on his hands and face. When asked what happened, Berube replied, “My friend hit me.” He appeared intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests. Berube refused a chemical test and medical attention and was charged.

• THEFTS: Several residents on the 7100 and 7200 blocks of Schultz Road reported Saturday morning that their cars were broken into overnight Friday.

Among the items taken:

• $1 in change — but a pair of white latex gloves were left behind on the front driver's seat.

• A starter pistol, a GPS unit and $200 from a car

• Four Mikita drills in a case and a Peak monitor for a reverse camera
