BLOTTER: Police reports published Dec. 23

Wheatfield

• DWI: Alexander T. Cancross, 25, 3076 Shenk Road, Sanborn, was charged with aggravated DWI (BAC more than 0.18 percent), DWI, reckless driving and several traffic tickets about 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office. Called to the area of Hoover Road for a report of a man who had fallen asleep behind the wheel in a bank parking lot but then awoke and drove off, deputies found the suspect, Cancross, on Ward Road. When asked for his driver's license, deputies said Cancross began counting money in his wallet. He appeared intoxicated and failed field sobriety tests. A breath test determined his blood alcohol content to be 0.21 percent. Statements were also taken from witnesses who said Cancross was driving reckless and nearly struck a car and sent another into a snowbank to avoid a head-on collision.

North Tonawanda 

• RECKLESS: Garrett M. Saia, 20, 1061 Oliver St., upper, was charged at 4:15 p.m. Thursday with reckless driving, failing to yield the right of way to an emergency vehicle, driving left on pavement on pass and speed in zone. He was released for court. 

City of Tonawanda 

• LARCENY: Katie M. Seibert, 22, Laurie Drive, Grand Island, was arrested on warrant 1:30 p.m. Friday for larceny. She was held for court. 

Town of Lockport

• POSSESSION: Hakeem O. Jones, 25, 132 Harvard Place, Buffalo, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana Friday. Jones was given a ticket by a Niagara County Sheriff’s deputy and he’s set to appear Jan. 21 in Lockport Town Court.
