• ARMED ROBBERY: Falls police were called to an Amherst hospital early Sunday morning where a 22-year-old man reported he was attacked by four young men who beat him up and took his cell phone. The victim said he was walking in the 400 block of Fourth Street, near the corner of Niagara Street, about 12:30 a.m. Sunday when the incident occurred. A hispanic man wearing a blue winter jacket approached him from behind and forcibly turned him around while pointing a black handgun at him. Three other men approached them and began punching and kicking the victim. While he was on the ground, the men took his iPhone and wallet. The victim added that he was with a girl he recently met on the online dating site "Plenty of Fishes" and she seemed to know the men who attacked him and left the area with them.
• ROBBERY: A 50-year-old man told police he was attacked by a man wearing a ski mask who threatened him with a knife, punched him in the face and took $500. The victim said he walked into his apartment at Packard Court and was attacked by the man, who was waiting inside. The victim said the suspect was able to get in the apartment because his front door does not lock properly. The victim he was attacked in a similar way on July 5 and believes it's the same person.
• BURGLARY: A prisoner being held at the Niagara Falls Municipal Complex reported to police that someone took a rifle and shotgun he had in his room while staying at a Niagara Falls Boulevard hotel. The man said one of the guns was under a bed and the other was under his pillows. He said he found a bathroom window open. When asked why he didn't report the theft sooner, the man replied, "I didn't have time."
