• ROBBERY: Police are investigating a reported robbery of a Sitka, Alaska, man between 1 and 1:20 a.m. Saturday in the 300 block of Niagara Street. The victim, who didn't provide an age to police, said he left the Buffalo Avenue hotel he's staying at wanting to find a liquor store or bar in the area. He said four men were waiting outside his hotel and offered to show him a place. He said when he arrived in the 300 block of Niagara Street, they threw him against the wall of a building and he dropped his iPhone. The men picked it up and fled south on Fourth Street. The phone is valued at $400. Police said they were unsuccessful in trying to view security footage.

• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested following a shoplifting incident at 7:50 p.m. Friday from a grocery store in the 1000 block of Portage Road. William Cauley, 43, 8235 Buffalo Ave., was charged with petit larceny after police said he fled the store with seven packages of fabric softener and a pair of work gloves belonging to the store hidden beneath his jacket. Officers report being in the parking lot doing paperwork when two store employees flagged police down to assist in apprehending a suspect. They said he escaped from store staff after being confronted about a large bulge beneath his jacket. The products value was $64.27 and all items were returned to the store.

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a reported burglary between 6 p.m. Sept. 25 and 6 p.m. Friday from a garage in the 400 block of 18th Street. The victim, a 44-year-old man, told police someone cut the lock and door handle off a garage he was renting from the property owner. After getting the door open, he said a shelf, nuts and bolts, a cherry picker, two transmissions, a gas grill, a vehicle rear bumper, ten tires, reloading equipment for bullets and a miniature motorcycle were all missing from inside, valued at $2,385. He said a resident of the building had previously cut a lock off a basement door and may have done the same to the garage, but police made no arrests according to reports.
