FIRE CALLS: Niagara Falls fire reports published April 6

• FIRE: On March 30, Platoon 1, under the command of Battalion Chief Dan Boland, responded, at 6:33 p.m., to a structure fire in the 3500 block of Sherwood Avenue. A frayed electrical wire started the fire which caused $35,000 damage to the house and $20,000 to its contents. Two dogs were alone in the house and after being removed, one was successfully revived using recently donated “Oxygen Fur Life” devices. Fire crews were assisted by an employee of the Ford Veterinary Clinic, which is just around the corner from the fire scene. Unfortunately, the other dog was not able to be resuscitated.
