Niagara Falls

• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested following a reported fight at 6:45 a.m. Friday at a grocery store in the 1000 block of Portage Road. Kenneth Howell, 27, 1580 Willow Ave., was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana after police responded to the scene. Officers said Howell was involved in a possible theft from a vehicle parked in the store parking lot. The victim, a 29-year-old man, told police he was delivering newspapers to the store when he left his vehicle unlocked with his cell phone playing music through the radio. He returned to the vehicle playing unrecognized music and the inside appearing disheveled. He said he noticed a man walking away from the vehicle. He stopped the man and eventually chased him into the store and caught him in the vestibule. Police said a search for any outstanding warrants on Howell resulted in one outstanding from the City of Niagara Falls and another from the Town of Lewiston. He was taken into custody at the scene and, when reportedly asked if he had any drugs on him, Howell said his front, right pocket, where police report finding a brown cigar with a leafy green substance.

• MISSING PERSON: As of 11 a.m. Saturday, officers report looking for Shahen Bedrosian, an 86-year-old man living in an apartment in the 8400 block of Buffalo Avenue. Police say the man, who's known to walk the streets of the neighborhood collecting bottles, could not be located in his apartment and multiple newspapers from consecutive days were found outside his door. A neighbor reported he'd been missing since about 11 a.m. Thursday and that he has no friends or family in the area and his vehicle was located in the parking lot of the building.
