BLOTTER: Police reports published Sept. 5

Niagara Falls

• ROBERRY: A 27-year-old Falls man told police he was at a friend's house on Welch Avenue and left to go home about 9:30 p.m. Monday. While heading into the alley behind his friend's house, the man said he was approached by a man displaying a silver handgun who said, "Yo, white boy, give me your money!" The victim said the robber grabbed $230 from his wallet when he opened it and ran off down the alley toward 22nd Street. He was described as a 6-foot-2 black man with slender build, buzz cut, short beard and wearing a black t-shirt and jeans.

• SHOTS FIRED: Falls police were called to the 700 block of Townsend Place about 3:30 a.m. Tuesday for a report of shots heard. While investigating, an officer found a bullet hole in the windshield of a car parked in front of a residence. Two bullet casings from a .22-caliber weapon were also found nearby. There were no witnesses to the shooting or any injuries reported.

• VANDALISM: Falls police responded to a vandalism complaint on the 1900 block of Niagara Street Tuesday morning. A resident said someone dumped syrup all over his 2000 Saturn LS and scratched "rotten (expletive)" into the hood of the car. The resident said he suspected it was his ex-girlfriend as she's upset he's now living with another woman.

INCIDENT: A Willow Avenue resident reported Tuesday that sometime since Aug. 28 someone placed a rag in the gas tank of their 2008 Jeep Cherokee and set it on fire. The flames damaged the some of the paint around the tank but didn't do any other damage. The resident said the Jeep hasn't been running right either and they suspect it's been tampered with and are having it checked out.
