Niagara Falls

• LARCENY: The head of security for the Seneca Niagara Gaming Corp. told police that on July 25 an employee working as a financial cage cashier inside Seneca Niagara Casino submitted a money drawer to a shift manager that was $2,500 short. According to police reports, the casino’s head of security reported the incident to police during a visit to the Public Safety Complex on Main Street this week. Reports indicated that the security official told police the suspect’s finance cage shift manager did a count of the drawer at the end of the suspect’s shift and confirmed it was $2,500 short. Reports said the suspect is no longer employed by the casino and told police that her drawer count at the end of her shift showed no shortage on the date in question. Casino officials indicated that they could provide video footage of the suspect’s entire shift as part of the ongoing investigation.

• LARCENY: A group of 14 travelers from Delaware who were visiting Niagara Falls in a passenger van this week told police their vehicle sustained heavy damage while it was parked in a lot in the 6500 block of Niagara Falls Boulevard. According to reports, the group of tourists parked their van in the lot at around 10 a.m. Tuesday and when they returned six hours later following a trip on a local bus tour they found the lock on the driver’s side of the vehicle had been broken and several items were missing from inside. The list of items included assorted clothing, credit cards and $600 cash. Reports indicated that officers asked to review footage from a camera installed on a restaurant near the lot, but were unable to get a clear view of the area where the van was parked. The investigation is ongoing. Total loss was listed at $900.
