BLOTTER: Police reports published Jan. 13

Niagara Falls

• ARREST: A Maryland man was arrested following a reported shoplifting incident at 7:45 p.m. Friday at a business in the 1500 block of Military Road. Daniel Meeks, 21, 115 Prouse Road, Queenstown, Md., was charged with petit larceny after police said he fled the store in a black vehicle. His vehicle was located behind a nearby restaurant and questioning resulted in him confessing to taking more than $73 of merchandise from the store. He was taken into custody without incident, police said.

Wheatfield

• THEFT: The members of a Nash Road fire company reported Saturday that sometime since this past May someone switched out a $240 piece of equipment used for public address in the hall's banquet room with an older piece of equipment. There is no sign of the newer equipment and fire company members said the older piece of equipment had been stored in a secured maintenance room. Surveillance video of the inside of the fire hall is being checked.

Pendleton

CHARGED: William S. Golab, 31, 63 8th Ave., Apt. 1, North Tonawanda, was charged with criminal contempt after a traffic stop about noon on Saturday, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office. Golab was stopped on Bear Ridge Road for not wearing a seat belt and was found to be driving with a shotgun that was in violation of two active order of protections. Golab was also wanted on an unnamed warrant out of North Tonawanda.

Clarence

• CHARGED: Jeffrey P. Anzalone, 46, of Badger Drive, Lockport, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance about 2:30 a.m. Friday, according to New York State Police. Anzalone was charged after he was stopped for running a red light at Main Street and Transit Road and found to have 1.4 grams of cocaine. A passenger in the car, Lindsey L Bortz, 26, of Cortland Avenue, Buffalo, was found to be in possession of marihuana and was charged with unlawful possession of Marijuana.
