Handcuffs, duty belt stolen from officer

 
A duty belt, handcuffs and GPS was reported taken from a county correctional officer’s vehicle while it was parked overnight on his property on Ketchum Avenue.
The theft took place sometime between 11 p.m. on Monday and 8 a.m. on Tuesday, according to a Niagara County Sheriff’s report. The duty belt, with assorted equipment, was valued at $100 and the handcuffs were valued at $30. The total loss was listed at $331.
The 2006 GMC was not locked.
The officer said several other neighbors have also had their vehicles being unlawfully entered overnight in the past several weeks, but have not reported the crimes. 

 
North Tonawanda
• BURGLARY: Devin T. Kutlak, 19, 265 Payne Ave., upper, was charged at 6:20 a.m. Thursday with first-degree burglary, second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Kutlak was held for court. 
  
Newfane
• CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A Judy Street resident reported Tuesday that her above-ground swimming pool valued at $4,000 was damaged Tuesday. According to the report, the complaint and got a phone call from her neighbor who stated her above ground swimming pool is leaking water. There was a small puncture hole located in the wall near the bottom of the pool. The Mighty Sun pool is 24-feet round and 7-feet deep.

    Police are investigating a theft from a convenience store in the 2600 block of Niagara Street. A clerk told officers that four suspects, two males and two females, entered the store at 5:32 a.m. Wednesday and one of the women brought several items to the counter and paid for them with a New York state benefit card.

    Police are investigating a burglary in the 2500 block of 29th Street. An agent with the CSX Railroad Security Department told officers that sometime between April 4 and noon Monday, someone forced open the door to a storage shed on his company’s property.
