WHEATFIELD

Quite a hood ornament

A Homeyer Road woman called sheriff’s deputies after finding a severed deer head on the hood of her car early about 12:30 a.m. Monday.

Deputies said the deer head was that of a male deer with its antlers cut from the skull cap. No damage was visible to the car.

The 19-year-old woman said she didn’t know who had left the head there or why anyone would do such a thing.



Niagara Falls

• ROBBERY: Police are looking for a suspect in a robbery in the 2200 block of Pine Avenue on Monday. A 41-year-old woman told officers she was getting out of her car at 3:15 p.m. when a man approached her. The suspect hit her in the face and took $120 out of her hand.

n BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 500 block of Seventh Street. A 53-year-old man told police sometime between 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Monday someone forced open the door to his home. The victim said several power tools were taken.

• THEFT: Police are looking for two suspects who shoplifted from a warehouse store in the 5500 block of Porter Avenue on Saturday afternoon. A store employee told officers the two men took a DVR without paying for it.

• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested on drug charges. Laverne S. Streeter, 31, 1504 13th St., was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. Police said Streeter had 40 grams of pot in his possession when he was stopped for traffic violations about 1 p.m. Monday at Eighth Street and Pine Avenue.

• THEFT: Officers are looking into a car break-in in the 2100 block of Main Street. A 20-year-old woman told police sometime between 2 a.m. and noon Monday someone broke into her 2001 Oldsmobile Alero by smashing a front passenger-side window. The victim said a pair of speakers were taken.

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 2000 block of LaSalle Avenue. A 20-year-old man told officers sometime between 10:20 and 11:35 a.m. Monday someone broke into his apartment by kicking in the door. The victim said a projection screen TV was taken.

• BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 200 block of 71st Street. A 21-year-old man told police sometime between 11 p.m. Sunday and 1 a.m. Monday someone broke into his apartment by kicking in a door. The victim said a DVD player, some speakers and an amplifier were taken.

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 2600 block of Whirlpool Street. A 54-year-old woman told officers sometime between 7 p.m. Sunday and 1:15 a.m. Monday someone broke into her home by breaking a window and climbing in. The victim said $500, $3,000 worth of jewelry, a number of tools, a CD player, some prescription medications, some liquor and a laptop computer was taken.

Town of Wilson

• ARREST: A Lockport man was arrested on drug charges on Thursday. Shane R. Pearce, 21, of Ridge Road, Lockport, was charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and unlawful possession of marijuana. Pearce was observed speeding on Chestnut Road in the Town of Wilson and was stopped by State Police troopers. While being interviewed, marijuana was observed in the vehicle and a subsequent search of his car revealed a bag containing opium and a marijuana smoking pipe.
