• BURGLARY: About 10:30 p.m. Sunday, deputies were called to the 7000 block of Walmore Road for a reported burglary in process. While in route to the scene, deputies were advised a man had forcibly entered a home there by kicking in a door. Deputies, along with the Town of Niagara Police Department did check the area for the suspect, who was last seen heading northbound on Jagow Road. The victim said he was upstairs sleeping in his bedroom when he was woken up by a kicking noise coming from downstairs. The victim said he called 911 and went down stairs to investigate. The victim said he came across the suspect, who stated, “I’m not leaving unless I get money.” The suspect appeared to be shaking from possibly being on drugs, the victim said. The victim gave the man a $20 and the suspect fled. Deputies requested available K-9 to the scene but could not locate the suspect.
• INCIDENT: A Canadian man turned over a pistol he found at a Lynch Park home Tuesday morning. The man, the executor of the estate, told deputies he was going through the home’s contents and did not want the gun to get into the wrong hands.
Newfane
• INCIDENT: Deputies were called to a Coomer Road home for a reported accidental gunshot wound to the leg about 7:45 a.m. Monday. A 68-year-old resident there told deputies he was cleaning his .38-caliber Smith and Wesson revolver when he accidentally discharged a round into and through his left leg. The round penetrated through the inside of his left leg and exited out the outside of his left leg. The man said it happened about 5 a.m. Monday but his 42-year-old son told a different story. The son said his father shot himself about 11 p.m. Sunday, adding, “I think he was pretty heavy into the wine last night.” The father was taken to Erie County Medical Center for his injury. Deputies noted the gun was registered to the father.
