POLICE REPORTS: Oct. 4, 2009
Niagara Falls
• DWI: James M. Corcoran, 54, 2725 Niagara St., Apt. 4, was charged with DWI and failure to signal around 10 p.m. Friday. Officers saw a vehicle make an improper right hand turn at 30th and Falls streets. The driver failed to signal and struck the curb, police said. Officers stopped Corcoran, who showed several signs of intoxication and failed field sobriety tests. His blood alcohol content was 0.17 percent.
• STOLEN VEHICLE: Between 10 p.m. Friday and 12:30 a.m. Saturday, a person reported their vehicle was stolen from the parking lot of a hotel in the 200 block of Rainbow Boulevard. The vehicle is worth $28,000.
• PETIT LARCENY: An Xbox and several games, valued at $699, were reported taken early Saturday from a residence in the 1900 block of Cudaback Avenue.
• BURGLARY: Two prescriptions and $450 were taken from a residence in the 600 block of 19th street between 10:30 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. Saturday. A door and lock were damaged while the suspects gained entrance.
• PETIT LARCENY: A mattress and box spring were reported taken between 10:30 p.m. Friday and 11 a.m. Saturday from a front porch in the 2200 block of Niagara Avenue.
• CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A bus driver told police he heard two bricks strike the passenger side of the bus at Ninth and Niagara streets. Two windows, worth $800, were damaged.
• DRUGS: George Christian Lambert, 45, 4055 Duck Hill Cove, Lakeland, Tenn., was charged Saturday with criminal possession of a narcotic. Lambert was crossing the Rainbow Bridge into the United States when he was pulled over for a secondary inspection. Customs officials found eight suspected Oxycodone pills in Lambert’s luggage. Lambert told officers the pills were indeed Oxycodone and he bought them a friend, according to reports.
• DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Melissa Sue Apolito, 22, 9 Monroe St., Lockport, was charged at 11:30 a.m. Saturday with disorderly conduct. Officers responded to the 1900 block of Whitney Avenue for an assault report. Officers said Apolito began screaming obscenities at them when they arrived. She told police a woman assaulted her just before they arrived on scene. Apolito also said she didn’t require medical attention. Officers said there were no sign of injuries. They then informed her she would have to follow up for a warrant. Apolito began screaming at police again, saying “I’m going to go over there and do the same (expletive) thing to her.” Apolito was told to leave the area, which she did. However, she returned within five minutes and started arguing with the woman again. Police than placed her under arrest.
City of Tonawanda
