POLICE REPORTS: June 28, 2009

Niagara Falls

• DWI: Danielle Marie Begole, 28, 629 79th St., lower, was charged at 3:53 a.m. Saturday with DWI and making an unsafe lane change. Police saw Begole driving westbound down Niagara Falls Boulevard, weaving in and out of the left lane. When pulled over, officers detected a strong odor of perfume and alcoholic beverage. She told police he has a few drinks a couple of hours ago. Begole failed multiple field sobriety tests. Her blood alcohol content was 0.21 percent.

• PETIT LARCENY: A man reported around 12:30 a.m. Saturday that several items were taken from his car while it was parked in a driveway in the 100 block of 61st Street. Two drills, two pairs of glasses, money and two prescriptions were taken.

• GRAND LARCENY: At 1:30 p.m. Saturday, the driver’s side window was smashed on a vehicle parked on Rainbow Boulevard. A GPS, debit card and two bags of clothes were taken. Damage to the window is estimated at $300.

• BURGLARY: Between 11 p.m. Friday and 1 a.m. Saturday, a residence in the 1000 block of Niagara Avenue was burglarized. A flat-screen TV and six DVDs were taken. The victim noticed the fan in the window was knocked out upon returning home.

• BURGLARY: A framing nailer was taken between 5 p.m. Friday and 9 a.m. Saturday from a garage on A Street. The door, door frame and a dead bolt were damaged.

• GRAND LARCENY: A woman reported her car was stolen around 6 p.m. Friday. The victim told police two females asked to borrow her car. They told her they were friends of one of the victim’s friends and would bring the vehicle back in a few minutes. After three hours passed, the victim called her friend who said she didn’t tell anyone to go and borrow the car. The victim also said she gave her house keys to the females. She said the suspects appeared to be about 16 years old.

• UNLICENSED OPERATION: Ross A. Toarmino, 25, 2225 Whitney Ave., Apt. 2, was charged at 10:30 p.m. Friday following a traffic stop in the City Market. Police saw Toarmino making a turn without signaling. While pulling him over, Toarmino told police his license was suspended. Police also discovered Toarmino had an active bench warrant out of St. Lawrence County. In addition to the bench warrant, he was charged with failure to signal and third-degree aggravated unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle.

• GRAND LARCENY: An elderly male reported to police that he has been receiving several calls telling him he’s won money and vacations and asking him to send cash to collect the prizes. One of the callers said he was from American Publishing Clearing House. The victim sent them $5,000.
