Staff Reports
Niagara Gazette

Niagara Falls

• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested after he spit over a second-floor balcony at the city’s new municipal complex. James W. Carson, 21, 759 17th St., was charged with disorderly conduct, second-degree obstructing governmental administration, resisting arrest and petit larceny. Court security officers said Carson spit over the railing of the balcony that looks down on the complex’s main lobby. Officers said Carson then struggled with them as they placed him under arrest. Carson is also accused of stealing and eating a banana from the complex snack stand.

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 500 block of 70th Street. A 54-year-old man told officers that sometime between 9 p.m. Wednesday and 8:30 a.m. Thursday someone kicked in the basement door to his home. The victim said a lawn mower and a Weed Wacker were taken.

• BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 600 block of 20th Street. A property owner told police that sometime between 3 p.m. Friday and noon Monday someone broke into his home by breaking through a door. The victim said $1,200 worth of copper pipe was taken.

• THEFT: Police are investigating a car break-in in the 2700 block of LaSalle Avenue. An 18-year-old man told officers that sometime between 9:30 p.m. Wednesday and 7 a.m. Thursday someone broke into his 1997 Chevy Lumina by smashing two rear windows. The victim said the car’s stereo system was taken.

Wilson

• GRAND LARCENY: A Youngstown Road man told police Thursday he received a phone call from a family friend who said the man’s son was in town at a local bar and restaurant trying to sell a 12-gauge shotgun and a Garmin GPS system. The report said these items were stolen. The gun was valued at $3,000, and the Garmin at $1,200. The man immediately went home and observed the items missing. The larceny victim told police that his son has a severe drug problem and possibly took the items after he was told to move out, the report said. Police were unable to contact the suspect and reported the matter to the Criminal Investigation Bureau for further action.

Lewiston

• MARIJUANA: Tracy Vicenti, 36, Bloomingdale, N.J., was charged Thursday with unlawful possession of marijuana. Police reportedly saw Vicenti traveling northbound on the I-190 near Lewiston with the driver’s view obstructed. After a traffic stop, police searched Vicenti’s vehicle and located a duct-taped pouch fastened under the right rear cushion of the seat that contained five suspected marijuana cigarettes. Police said a K-9 search of the vehicle also indicated the presence of marijuana. Vicenti is due July 15 Lewiston Town Court.

Town of Niagara

• POSSESSION: Antonio Bedgood, 32, 171 Hickory St., Buffalo, was charged Wednesday with unlawful possession of marijuana. Police stopped Bedgood on Porter Road. Police said Bedgood told them he was heading to a friend’s house in Niagara Falls. When police asked if there was any marijuana in the vehicle, Bedgood replied, “Yes, in the ash tray.” The report said police found a burnt marijuana cigarette in the ashtray. Bedgood is due July 9 in Town of Niagara Court.

Town of Lockport

• LARCENY: A Gardenwood Drive woman told police Wednesday sometime between June 19 and the morning of June 20, someone stole 476 morphine tablets from a cupboard in her house.
