Bicyclist struck
by car, in
serious condition
A Niagara Falls man is in serious condition at Erie County Medical Center after he reportedly suffered a head injury when he was hit by a car late Tuesday.
John Keogh, 57, was riding his bike east on Lockport Road near Walmore Road about 9:25 p.m. when he crossed into the path of a Nissan Murano driven by MIchelle Altman, 40, of Niagara Falls.
Keogh reportedly was not wearing a helmet.
Niagara County Sheriff’s dispatch received several 911 calls reporting the accident. When emergency crews arrived, they reportedly found Keogh on the ground — conscious — with a severe head injury.
He was transported to ECMC by Mercy Flight and was listed in serious condition Wednesday.
Neither person involved has been charged or ticketed, the report said.
CITY OF LOCKPORT
Pickup reported stolen; owner says he traded it for crack
A man told Lockport police on Tuesday that another man stole his pickup after the two made a deal for some crack cocaine.
A Fuller Road, Newfane, man said he loaned his blue 2008 Chevrolet Silverado pickup to a man known to him as “Mike” about 3 a.m. Monday in exchange for crack cocaine.
The man said Mike agreed to return the truck by 3 p.m., but it was not returned. The pickup is worth about $24,000, the report said. Niagara Falls police found the vehicle Tuesday on 16th Street.
Driver critical
after crash
A Lockport man, who was injured Tuesday in a crash on South Transit Road, remains in critical condition at Erie County Medical Center.
State troopers said 59-year-old Nicholas Divincenzo sustained serious head injuries when his Dodge Neon struck a Mack dump truck about 2:30 p.m.
The truck, driven by Robert Cosgrove, 39, of Tonawanda, was headed south on South Transit in the driving lane, the report said.
