• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 1500 block of Elmwood Avenue. A 44-year-old woman told officers that between 10 and 11:15 a.m. Thursday, someone broke into her home by opening sliding glass doors. The victim said a jewelry box, two purses and $140 was taken.
• THEFT: Officers are looking into an SUV break-in in the 1100 block of Niagara Avenue. A 33-year-old man told police that between 10 p.m. Wednesday and 5:43 a.m. Thursday, someone broke into his 1995 Chevy Tahoe by smashing a passenger side window. The victim said three TVs and a VCR were taken.

• CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: A Lake Street man told police around when he went to bed for the night he did not notice anyone suspicious in the area. But when he went outside for a walk at 10 a.m. the next day, the victim noticed two solar lights and his bird house were vandalized. He was able to piece his bird house back together but the lights were destroyed. The report said other neighbors in that area have also reported such property damage. Total damage is estimated at $35 to his property, the report said.
