• ARREST: A Los Angeles man was arrested on weapons charges at the Rainbow Bridge. Jay Roger Sloan, 64, 4150 W. 60th St., was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon. Sloan was stopped by Customs and Border Protection officers as he tried to cross the bridge from Canada into the United States. Sloan had a .38-caliber handgun and ammunition in his possession.
• INCIDENT: Police are investigating a shooting incident at a church in the 1700 block of Tennessee Avenue. Church members told officers that sometime between 3 p.m. Sunday and 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, someone shot pellets from a BB gun through three windows of the sanctuary.
City of Tonawanda
• RECKLESS DRIVING: Michael D. Wright, 30, 151 Buffalo Ave., Niagara Falls, was charged with aggravated unlicensed operation of a vehicle, reckless driving, second-degree menacing, fourth-degree possession of a weapon and endangering the welfare of a child after being stopped by police on Monday. He is being held in lieu of $250 bail.
Wilson
• FORGERY: Janice Mills, 46, of Wilson, was charged Monday night with third-degree possession of a forged instrument. Mills was arrested in Clarence after an investigation that began May 5. She was released on an appearance ticket.
Porter
• BURGLARY: A Brentwood Drive, Youngstown, man told deputies sometime in the past three months, someone broke into a storage unit he rents on Blairville Road and stole a dirt bike and an oxygen tank used for welding. The items are worth about $1,250, the report said. Deputies reportedly found a portion of the exterior fence around the storage facility had been cut open. The man said some other boxes were taken, but he does not know what was inside them, the report said.
City of Lockport
• HARASSMENT: Roy R. Hamilton, 46, 6584 Dysinger Road, Apt. 16, was charged Tuesday morning with second-degree harassment. A Sunnyside Street woman reportedly told police Hamilton has been following her around, calling her on the phone and threatening her life. Hamilton turned himself in after learning of the complaint, the report said. He is due today in Lockport City Court.
