Falls Police looking into Monteagle shootings
Falls Police are investigating a series of shootings in the 4600 block of Hyde Park Boulevard at the Monteagle Ridge apartments.
Officers said neighbors reported hearing a series of five shots around 4:30 a.m. Friday. Later in the morning, residents discovered that the windows on two cars had been shot out. Another resident found a bullet had penetrated the wall of her apartment and lodged in her refrigerator’s freezer door.

Man charged with setting stairs on fire
A city man has been charged with setting fire to a set of stairs at his Lockport home Thursday night.
Officers responded to 43 Adam St. late Thursday after a resident told police that Sloane J. Stymus, 35, another resident, had called her threatening to burn the house down.
When they arrived, officers smelled something burning and entered through an open side door.
Inside, they found a fire had been set on the stairs leading to the second floor of the house, and several items had been thrown around and broken on the main floor, the report said.
The fire was extinguished, and officers called the Lockport Fire Department to check the home for further fires.
The house was cleared, and Stymus was not on the scene, the report said.
The woman who had called police came to the home to collect her dog and told police Stymus had threatened her earlier that night.
