Witnesses sought in overnight shooting
Niagara Falls police are investigating a shooting that sent a 16-year-old to the hospital. It occurred early Saturday in the parking lot of the Highland Avenue Bar & Grille.
Police responded to a report at Niagara Falls Memorial Hospital of a gun shot victim at 3:42 a.m. Saturday. When police arrived, they found a teenager with a gun shot would that appeared to enter through his abdomen and exit his back.
He was in stable condition, according to police, and transferred to Erie County Medical Center for further treatment.
The victim, who is from Buffalo, was uncooperative with police, only revealing his name and age, according to the police report. The parties in the waiting room at Memorial who knew the victim were also uncooperative, police said.
The victim’s name is not being released at this time, pending notification of relatives.
Details of the incident are “sketchy,” said Lt. William Thomson of the department’s criminal investigation division, in a written statement.
Police ask that any witnesses or anyone with information regarding the incident call 286-4711.

n ROBBERY: Norman C. Archer, 31, 300 72nd St., was charged at 3:20 a.m. Saturday with second-degree robbery and petit larceny. After leaving Cocktail Bob’s bar, a victim reported he was punched and kicked by Archer, who took $80 from his pockets. The victim tried to take a taxi cab home but was refused because he had no money to pay. The victim flagged down a police car. Police officers saw a man matching Archer’s description hailing a taxi and arrested him. The victim sustained cuts to his head and scrapes on his arm.
n INDECENT EXPOSURE: Brian K. Erickson, 24, 724 Division Ave., was charged with exposure of a person and Conor D. Murphy, 23, 5228 Knolltop Terrace, was charged with disorderly conduct at 3:35 a.m. Saturday. Police were patrolling the south end of the city when they noticed Erickson with his jeans and underwear around his ankles while he urinated on the sidewalk. Police approached the two men and Murphy became irate, yelling profanities at the officers. Both were arrested.
n DWI: Clare E. Miller, 17, 896 Elliott Drive, was charged at 3:59 a.m. Saturday with driving while intoxicated, unlawful possession of marijuana, criminal possession of a controlled substance, reckless driving, wrong way down a one-way street and failure to use headlights. Police observed Miller driving erratically and initiated a traffic stop. Miller showed several signs of intoxication and blew a 0.14 percent blood alcohol content reading. She was held for court.
n PAINTBALL SHOTS: Nakeenin R. Bryant, 18, 1618 South Ave., was charged at 5:20 p.m. Friday with reckless endangerment after police received a call of a car driving around shooting cars with paintballs.
