ASSAULT: A Falls man was arrested for deliberately hitting a man with his car. Bernard B. Johnson, 53, 2776 Monroe Ave., was charged with second-degree assault, reckless driving and unsafe backing. Police said Johnson got into an argument with a 20-year-old man who was playing basketball in the street in the 2700 block of Monroe Avenue at 3:38 p.m. Sunday. After arguing with the man, Johnson got back into his car and sped at a high rate of speed back toward the victim ... striking the victim with the rear of his car. Johnson then pulled up and parked his car. The victim was treated at Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center for injuries that were described as non-life threatening.
BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 2600 block of Welch Avenue. A 68-year-old woman told officers that sometime between 8 a.m. Wednesday and 8 a.m. Sunday, someone broke into a shed in her yard by popping the lock off. The victim said a snowblower, a push lawnmower, a step ladder and some gardening tools were taken.
INCIDENT: Officers are looking into an incident in the 1400 block of College Avenue. A 28-year-old man told police that he was driving under the viaduct there, at 2:35 p.m. Sunday, when someone threw a large rock that struck his cars windshield. The victim said the windshield was smashed, but he was uninjured.
ARREST: A Fulton, N.Y. man was arrested after an incident in the 300 block of Prospect Street. Robert E. Hanthorne, 40, 1822 County Route 6, was charged with two counts of disorderly conduct and second-degree obstructing governmental administration. Police said they found Hanthorne trying to fight with two other men, at 10:40 p.m. Saturday. Officers said Hanthorne refused to leave the area and then tried to fight with them.
BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 4800 block of University Court. A 20-year-old male told officers that sometime between 9 p.m. Saturday and 2:15 a.m. Sunday, someone broke into his apartment using a key. The victim said a laptop computer, an iPod, an X-box game system and eight video games were taken.
ARREST: A Falls woman was arrested for drunken driving. Jennifer L. Trentley, 34, 2 B Packard Court, was charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to keep right. She was also charged on two outstanding arrest warrants. Officers said they saw Trentley change lanes and almost hit another car in the area of Packard Road and Niagara Falls Boulevard at 2:21 a.m. Sunday. Trentley failed field sobriety tests and refused a Breathalyzer test.
ARREST: A Falls man was arrested for drunken driving. Thomas J. Eddy, 27, 806 Sunnydale Drive, was charged with driving while intoxicated and improper turn. Police said they saw Eddy spin his truck tires and fishtail into the on-coming lane while turning from Second Street on Ferry Avenue at 3:16 a.m. Sunday. Eddy failed field sobriety tests and refused a Breathalyzer test.

CHARGED: David Dirienzo, 3027 Seneca St., West Seneca, was charged with driving while intoxicated and fail to keep right. Dirienzo was observed driving onto the shoulder of Niagara Falls Boulevard at 1:50 a.m. Sunday. The driver believed he was lost and the patrol noticed the smell of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. Dirienzo was given five field sobriety tests, which he failed. He was given a breath screening test which came back positive.
