PET OF THE WEEK: #39345 Mercedes

1.5 Years. Special Applications Being Accepted.

We wanted to share our pictures of Mercedes meeting her first bunny!!! She was a perfect lady & was quickly giving the little rabbit lots of kisses (which the rabbit felt was totally unnecessary). She showed herself to be a super gentle girl. Found as a stray. She is an affectionate girl who is a little shy and nervous right now. She needs some sweet talk to know she can trust you. She warms up to you quickly. She has a sleek and super soft coat. She will need a family who understands she is bashful and who has the time and patience to socialize her and show her the world is not as scary as she seems to think. She has shown no other dog aggression but if you have a dog you will need to bring your dog to meet her before doing an adoption, to make sure they will get along. She weighs 50 pounds at this time. 4/1/09: Our volunteers say she is very sweet. She plays like a puppy and she loves to run and play with the ball. Enjoys petting and having her belly rubbed. Walks pretty good on leash but will need further leash training. Dog classes would help. Takes food gently. Very nice dog!!! 4/29/09: Mercedes has been here almost 1 month now. She is becoming very depressed when in her kennel. Once out, she is extremely playful and LOVES to play with toys. Please do not judge her by her sad demeanor in her kennel! She needs a family to love right away!! Mercedes has been with us since 2/21/09. She deserves a real home!!!!
