PET OF THE WEEK: March 22, 2009

#1168: Shepherd Lab Mix, Spayed Female, 2 Years, Ruby.

She came in as a stray and was traced through her microchip to a man who had adopted her in January from our SPCA. An acquaintance of his contacted us and inquired about leaving the dog with us, for she keeps getting loose. We requested the adoptor bring her adoption records back to us to pass on to the next family and to come and fill out a questionnaire regarding what they know about her, but the adoptor never came in. She originally came to us as a stray and her microchip was traced to the Erie County SPCA, where they had originally gotten her from a Humane Society in Dublin, Virginia. The man who adopted her from Erie County was unable to be found. So, poor Ruby is back in a shelter once again. Her next family needs to understand that because she loves to roam and look for adventure she will need a very secure yard or kennel and will need to be supervised while outside. She is a regal looking girl who is a very active and has the high energy of a puppy. She will need some training. Serious and dedicated families only, please, for she has already been in shelters 4 times. She needs a permanent and loving home with a family who has time the time and patience to devote to her. She weighs 48 pounds.
