PET OF THE WEEK: Jan. 25, 2009

#38194: Shepherd/Husky Mix, Spayed Female, 8 Months, Wentz.

She was adopted and returned after 2 months. The new owner said he was unable to housebreak her. Did not report the specifics of which methods were tried for housebreaking. Reported that she is crate trained and good with children, cats and other dogs. She will need an adopter who is dedicated to working with her to overcome her housetraining problem. She will need to be trained as if she was a puppy just starting out with housebreaking. The SPCA does provide training support and information for adopters. A dog training DVD is provided and her new family will be given additional housebreaking literature. Adopter's also have access to speak to our dog trainer for assistance with difficult issues. She is a beautiful dog who was rescued from an overcrowded shelter. She has been through a lot and now needs a permanent home she can count on. Do you have the time and patience to devote to this girl in need?
