Nicholas R. DeLorenzo entered into rest at his Niagara Falls residence, after a brief illness on February 7, 2013. Nick was a lifelong resident of the city and was born on April 13, 1941. He was the son of the late Fred and Louise (Fioritta) DeLorenzo.
Nick was employed as a mason for a number of years, but his true vocation was serving as a minister for over 50 years in the local congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. He enjoyed helping people, by teaching them many Bible truths, including the promise of an earthly resurrection, a hope that gave him comfort at the end of his life. In addition, Nicholas was actively involved in the volunteer construction work that Jehovah's Witnesses are known for, including the construction of the Kingdom Hall located on River Road, in the Town of Wheatfield.
He is survived by his wife, Nadyne (Honsberger) DeLorenzo of 48 years; children, Mark (Judy) DeLorenzo, David (Cheri) DeLorenzo, Daniel DeLorenzo, Susan (Aaron) Senyk; step-mother, Charlotte DeLorenzo; one brother and three sisters Joan (Burpee) Marshall, Carol (Greg) Ross, Paul (Kim) DeLorenzo and Linda (Donald) Gray; grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to express their appreciation for the assistance of Niagara Hospice, as well as the many family and friends that have supported them over this difficult time. Friends may visit the family between 1:00 - 2:30 PM on Saturday, February 16th with a Memorial Service following at 3:00 PM at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7375 Nash Road, North Tonawanda, NY 14120. Arrangements were entrusted to the DuBois Funeral Home.
