Lorraine Scalfani

NIAGARA FALLS — Lorraine (Rosatone) Scalfani, 86, of Niagara Falls, NY, died on Wednesday, February 6, 2013 at Niagara Rehabilitation and Nursing Services in aNiagara Falls, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late Emidio and Josephine (Merino) Rosatone.

Lorraine was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools. She worked as a teachers aide for the Lewiston Porter School District and when she was younger as a clerk at the former Wellsley Shop and also worked in the law office of Robert Merino, both in Niagara Falls, NY. Lorraine was very family oriented and enjoyed spending time with them.

Lorraine is survived by her husband, Joseph J. Scalaini; four sons, John (Kathleen) Scalfani of Lewiston, NY, Joseph Scalfani of Phoenix, AZ, James Scalfani of Chicago, IL and Thomas Scalfani of Boca Raton, FL; six grandchildren, Cara Scalfani, Colleen (Matt) Miller, Alycia (Kevin) Cramer, Maria (Nick) Frantz, Nicole Barron and Joseph Scalfani; two great-granddaughters, Alexa and Gianna; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by two sisters, Frances Rosatone and Lucille (late Louis) DiVincenzo.

A special thank you to Lorraine's granddaughter, Maria, for her loving care and to the nurses and aides at Niagara Rehabilitation for the care and comfort given to Lorraine.

There will be no prior visitation. Funeral services and entombment in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY, will be held at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association of Western New York, 2805 Wehrle Drive, Ste. 6, Williamsville, NY 14221 or to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
