Geraldine Universal

NIAGARA FALLS — Geraldine (Wudzinski) Universal, 84 years old, passed away on Wednesday, January 30, 2013, at her home. She was born in Niagara Falls on October 26, 1928, the daughter of the late John and Stella (Pinkowski) Wudzinski.

Mrs. Universal was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. Many years ago she worked at  Nabisco Shredded Wheat and Slipko Bros. She later worked for several years at Gadawski's Restaurant. Mrs. Universal enjoyed traveling around the country to visit with her children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Universal is survived by her children, Michael (Gina) Universal of Corona, CA, Melinda (Michael) Martel of Rancho Murieta, CA, Jon (Karen) Universal of Granite Bay, CA, Leslie (Tim) Treahy of Canandaigua, NY, and Ronda (Paul) Shields of Naples, FL. She is also survived by her 10 grandchildren, Michael and Diana Universal, Michael and Marc Martel, Steven and Lauren Universal, Jenna and Lianna Treahy, and Andrea and Nicole Shields; her sister, Sandra (Frank) Kajdasz of Niagara Falls; and several aunts, nieces and nephews. Mrs. Universal was predeceased by her husband, Michael D. Universal, who passed away on March 22, 1987.

Friends may call on Sunday from 1 until 4 PM at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, at Divine Mercy Parish, corner of Niagara and 24th Streets, with Rev. Patrick J. Universal officiating. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to Historic Holy Trinity, 1419 Falls Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14303, or to a charity of one's choice.
