Joanne L. Harris


Joanne L. Harris, 56, of Ransomville, NY, entered into her forever home in heaven on November 30, 2012, in St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, NY. She was born on July 30, 1956, in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Robert  J. and Patricia M. (Grimm) Coe.
Joanne graduated from Lewiston Porter Senior High School in 1974. As a former military wife, Joanne was a stay at home housewife for 18 years. She then became a dental assistant and a registered youth detention worker for nine years, prior to being injured on the job and had been confined to a walker and wheelchair for the past 12 years.
Joanne is survived by her children, Robin (David) Horton, Crystal Harris and Gilbert (Lacey) Harris III (Lacey); ten grandchildren, Brendan Sera, Alayna Harris, Andrew Horton, Emma Harris, Edyn Ward, Madison Harris, Nicolas Ciocco, Alivia Ciocco, Samantha Ciocco and Christian Clendening; the sister of  Michael Coe (Sue), Anna Lindsey (Ken), and Samuel Coe; her former husband, Gilbert (Cheryl) Harris, Jr.; her extended family includes her former father and mother-in-law, Gilbert and Beverly Harris; daughter-in-law, Savannah (Robert) Ciocco; son-in-law, Damian Sera. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. She was a mother and grandmother to the many children she took in and loved them as her own.
A gathering of family and friends will be scheduled in the summer of 2013 to celebrate her new life in heaven, remembering the good times she enjoyed over the years. Donations can be made to the Ransomville Free Methodist Church or Ransomville Volunteer Fire Company.
