Charles O. Cunningham

NIAGARA FALLS —

Charles O. Cunningham of Niagara Falls, died on Tuesday, July 2, 2013 at home. He was 85. He was born in Nashville, TN on May 21, 1928 and was raised in Benton Harbor, MI, lived many years in California, settling in Niagara Falls in 1992. He served in the US Army Air Force during WW II.
Mr. Cunningham worked for Owens Illinois Glass Containers for many years. He created a little mechanism that sped up the whole bottling process throughout the world. He also went to Europe and created better corkage for the champagne bottles for France. He was a member of the Frontier Volunteer Fire Company, serving as its President and vice President. An active man. He enjoyed rebuilding cars, water skiing, snow skiing, travel, jet skiing, Bingo and Keno.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah (Tracey) Cunningham; children, Ronelle "Ronnie" (Tom) Schiav of Manteca, CA, Gerald "Hap" Cunningham (Shelly) of Tracy, CA, Candice Hudson and Tracey Walters, both of Niagara Falls; grandchildren, Shalize, Joshua, Madeline, Brian, Jeff and Michele; and great-grandchildren, Jenna, Sara, JT, Gabriel and Abigail.
Private services were held Sunday. The LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., handled arrangements.
