Joseph L. Kotalik

NIAGARA FALLS — Joseph L. Kotalik, 92 years old, passed away on November 11, 2012, at Schoellkopf Health Care Center. He was born in Ashley, PA on December 10, 1919, the son of the late Joseph and Anna (Balas) Kotalik, and moved to Niagara Falls in 1940.

Mr. Kotalik was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service for 40 years, working out of the Main Street Post Office, and retired in 1984. He was a member and long-time officer of the National Association of Letter Carriers; a member and officer of The Postal Credit Union and a member of the National Active and Retired Federal Employees Association.

Mr. Kotalik is survived by his children, John Kotalik of Ocala, FL; Sandra (Mario) Tonelleto of Niagara Falls; Charles (Cheryl) Kotalik of Ocala, FL; and James Kotalik of Niagara Falls. He is survived by eight grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brother, Bernard (Bea) Kotalik of Camp Hill, PA; and his sisters, Katherine McCawley of Mechanicsburg, PA; Dolores Sturman of Virginia Beach, VA; and Lucille (Lou) Marino of Santa Clarita, CA. He was predeceased by his wife, Antoinette "Toni" (Bellomo) Kotalik, who passed away in 1993; his children, Joseph and Margaret Mary Kotalik; his brothers, Elmer and Vincent Kotalik; and sisters, Dorothy Kotalik and Olga Hickman.

Friends may call on Wednesday from 4 until 7 PM at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, at 9:30 AM at Divine Mercy Parish, corner of Niagara and 24th Streets, with Rev. Jacek P. Mazur officiating. PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Entombment in Holy Angels Mausoleum in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston. Memorial contributions may be made to Niagara Hospice, Inc., 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094; or to the Niagara Falls Boys and Girls Club, 725-17th Street, Niagara Falls, NY 14301.
