NIAGARA FALLS —
Frank J. Toscano, 79, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, November 8, 2013 in his home. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on April 16, 1934 to the late Erminia (Farina) and Archangelo Toscano.
He attended local schools and was a graduate of LaSalle High School. Shortly thereafter, he enlisted in the U.S. Army serving during Korean Conflict as an executive chef while in Korea. Frank worked in the production department of Kimberly Clark for over 15 years until his retirement in 1989. Prior to his career at Kimberly Clark, he worked at Union Carbide in Niagara Falls. An active member of the former Sacred Heart Church, together with his sister and brother-in-law ran the Bereavement Luncheon Committee. Besides cooking, Frank's hobbies included woodworking and furniture refinishing. He also enjoyed sports, especially bowling and horse racing and was an avid Buffalo Bills Fan. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family. Frank will always be remembered as a helpful and caring individual with a great sense of humor.
He is survived by his sister, Marie Toscano of Niagara Falls, NY; one sister-in-law, Grace Toscano of the Town of Niagara; one nephew, Daniel Toscano; four nieces, Maria E. Toscano, Nancy Greco, Barbara Quimby and Linda Keller. Mr. Toscano was predeceased by his parents; and six siblings, the late Ralph Toscano, late Joseph (Clara) Toscano, late Guido (Sarah) Toscano, late Raymond Toscano, late Philomena (Fred) Holodoy and the late Raffaela (Mario) Gabrielli.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Vincent de Paul Parish at St. Leo Worship Site, 2748 Military Rd., Niagara Falls, NY on Tuesday morning, November 12, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Entombment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY. Flowers gratefully declined.
