NORTH TONAWANDA — Frank Walter Kupiec, Jr., of North Tonawanda, NY, died on Friday, October 11, 2013, at home, while receiving care from Niagara Hospice. He was born in Niagara Falls on November 11, 1943, the son of Frank W. and Bernice (Baranowski) Kupiec, Sr. He attended local schools and was a graduate of the former LaSalle Senior High School, receiving his bachelor's in management science from the University of Buffalo.

Frank served in the US Navy and the Naval Reserves during Vietnam. He worked for General Motors, the Carborundum Company, Chudy Paper, retiring from Buffalo Niagara Partnership in 2007, as account executive.

He was a member of St. Jude the Apostle Church, the United States Bowling Congress,      Bally's Health Club and the Tantara Country Club. Always involved in fitness, he won the weight lifting championship for WNY in Hornell. An avid Buffalo sports team fan, he held season tickets for the Buffalo Bills for many years and enjoyed watching the Sabres and the New York Yankees.

Frank was predeceased by his wife, Susan (Schadenfroh) Kupiec in 2011. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer White (Murray) of Grand Island; siblings, Dolores Hill (John) of Crofton, MD; Richard Kupiec (Dawn) and Rosemary Shaffer (Thomas) of Wheatfield; a granddaughter, Mollie Joan White of Grand Island; nieces and nephews, Scott Hill, Stephanie Veach, Brian Shaffer, Laurie Ziewicki, Jason Kupiec and Jessica Kerr and       several great-nieces; many loving cousins, especially, Betty (Elizabeth) and Bob (Robert) Pencek of Endicott, NY.

Friends mall call Tuesday from 2-4, 6-8 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where prayers will be said Wednesday 9 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Jude the Apostle, 800  NF Blvd., North Tonawanda, NY. The interment will be in Mount Olivet Cemetery, Tonawanda. In lieu of flowers, memorials if desired may be made to the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network          (pancan.org) or to Niagara Hospice.
