Rita "BB" Meness Clause

TUSCARORA NATION —

Rita "BB" Meness Clause, of the Tuscarora Nation, passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2013 at home surrounded by her loved ones, from a lengthy battle with cancer. She was born in Maniwaki, Quebec on March 30, 1946, the daughter of the late Patrick and Lillian (Chausse) Meness.
Mrs. Clause will be remembered as a woman who was loved by all that knew her. An opened hearted woman who always had an open door for those who need it. She loved spending time with loved ones and was a member of the Tuscarora Indian Mission.
Mrs. Clause was the wife of the late Turhan E. "Sana" Clause, Sr; who died in July of 1999. She is survived by four sons, Turhan E. (Rachael), Patrick C. (Yvette), Creedon M. (Lisa), Dennis A. Clause; one daughter, Mandie A. Clause; two brothers, Richard, John Robert  Meness; five sisters, Mildred, Patsy, Joanne, Betty and Rose Meness; also ten grandchildren, several great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Clause was the sister of the late Harry and Jack Meness.
The family will be present  on Friday after 11:00 AM at her home, 5402 Chew Road, Sanborn, NY. Funeral services will be held on Monday in Maniwaki, Quebec, with interment in the Kitigan Zibi Anishinabeg Cemetery. Arrangements were made through the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, SANBORN, NY.
