Patrick R. Brown


Patrick R. Brown, 77, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2013, at Elderwood at Crestwood Nursing Care Residence in Wheatfield, NY. Born in Niagara Falls, NY on March 17, 1936, he was the son of the late Raymond and Helen (Bielic) Brown and attended local schools.
On February 21, 1956, he entered the US Marine Corps, receiving the Good Conduct Medal and being honorably discharged as a Sergeant on February 20, 1958. In 1960, he married Sharon O'Donnell who predeceased him on July 28, 1997. He was a member of the Niagara Falls Fire Department for twenty-two years, retiring in 1987 as a Captain, and he also worked at Niagara Fire Extinguisher. During his years with the fire department, he was actively involved in the Fire Fighters Toy Fund and the United Way on behalf of the Niagara Falls Fire Department. He was a life member of the LaSalle Sportsman Club. Patrick enjoyed shooting competitions in his younger years, loved spending time with his grandchildren and traveling. Especially enjoyed traveling to various casinos across the United States. He will be remembered as a very kind and generous person.
He is survived by his children, Patrick R. (Cheryl) Brown II, Lisa (Scott) Paschke; his grandchildren, Madison, Ryan and Molly Brown, and Connor and Andrew Paschke; his longtime companion, Paulette (Kline) Wozniak; his sister-in-law, Eleanor Reece; and his niece, Karyn Reece; and nephew, Kevin Reece. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Sharon (O'Donnell) Brown.
Friends may call Thursday, December 12th, from 2-4 PM and 7-9 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME, INC., 319-24th St., cor. of Welch Ave., Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin at 10:00 AM on Friday, December 13th, at the funeral home, with Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating. Burial with Military Honors following in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
