Patricia Ann (Hoffman) Bailor, a long time resident of the area, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family, on Thursday, September 12, 2013 in Roswell Park following a lengthy illness. She was 58. She was born in Niagara Falls on November 13, 1954, the daughter of Hazel (Tennant) Hoffman of Niagara Falls and the late Robert G. Hoffman, Sr.
She attended local schools and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School, earning her LPN from Niagara County Community College, practicing nursing at Mount St. Mary's Hospital for several years. An entrepreneur, she operated Vent-A-Care for several years and Time for Tots Daycare in her Town of Niagara Home from 1997 until 2001. Patricia had a profound love for her children, grandchildren and to other people's children. She was affectionately thought of as Grandma to many. In her leisure time, she enjoyed garage sales crocheting, making many blankets for other patients at Roswell. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and a former member of St. James United Methodist Church.
Survivors include her husband and high school sweetheart, Mike Bailor; three children, Dean (Tina) Bailor of Niagara Falls, Robert "Bob" Bailor (Carina) of Niagara Falls and Tricia Bailor of Niagara Falls; brothers, Michael Hoffman (Sharon) of the Town of Wheatfield, Steve Hoffman (Ginny) of Niagara Falls; sisters, Jean Morock (Joe) and Carol Harchar, who donated her stem-cells in hopes of extending Patricia's life, both of Niagara Falls, NY; her sister-in-law, Diane Hoffman of Ransomville; grandchildren, Christopher, Dylan, Aubrey, Ashley, Aubre, Austin, Athan, Alexis and Chloe; many nieces and nephews. In addition to her father, she was predeceased by brothers, Robert Bob Hoffman, Jr and James Ira Hoffman.
Private services will be held at the convenience of the family. Memorials if desired may be made to Grace Lutheran Church, 716 Cayuga Drive, Niagara Falls, NY 14304 or to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, 665 Elm Street, Buffalo, NY 14263. The LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., is handling the funeral arrangements.
