Helen M. Mazurowski

GASPORT — Helen M. (Szydlowski) Mazurowski, 95, of Lewiston, NY, passed away Friday, August 23, 2013 in Absolut Care of Gasport. Born August 7, 1918 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Rataj) Szydlowski and attended local schools. Helen was a member of the former St. Stanislaus Kostka Church, the American Legion Post #1465 Auxiliary, Holy Trinity, St. Michael's, St. Stan's Senior Citizen groups and the John Duke Center. In her younger years she enjoyed bowling and plastic canvas crafting.

She is survived by her step-daughter, Mary (Rob) Rinker of Barker, NY; her grandchildren, Joshua (Janelle) Rinker, Amanda Rinker and her great-grandchildren, Jayden and Cecelia; also several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Walter H. Mazurowski; her step-son, Walter J. Mazurowski; her brothers, Chester, Joseph and Leon "Leo" Szydlowski and sisters, Bernice Bulka and Cecelia Kokoszka.

Friends may call Monday, August 26th from 3-7 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC.,          319-24th St., cor. Welch Ave., Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will take place at 9:30 AM on Tuesday, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM at Divine Mercy Parish, 24th and Niagara Sts., with Rev. Jacek Mazur officiating. Burial following in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Diabetes Society Amherst (Buffalo) Office, 315 Alberta Dr., Amherst, NY 14226; or the American Cancer Society, PO Box 22718, Oklahoma City, OK 73123-1718.
