Cosmo Greco


Cosmo Greco, 81, of the Town of Niagara, NY passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2014 at Mt. St. Marys Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Limosano, Campobosso, Italy, he was the son of the late Francesco and Jovanna (Immonaco) Greco.
Cosmo was raised and educated in Italy. He immigrated to Canada in 1951 and on January 7, 1956 he married Josephine (Daddario) Greco in Niagara Falls, Ontario. In 1957, they moved to Niagara Falls, NY, where he has lived until the present time. Mrs. Greco predeceased him on December 4, 1993. Cosmo was employed at the former Airco Speer Carbon in Niagara Falls until his retirement in 1998 after almost thirty years of service. He was an active member of St. Leo's Church in the Town of Niagara, where he served as an usher, and he also served as an usher at Our Lady of Fatima Shrine in Youngstown, NY. In his leisure time, he enjoyed gardening and walking at the local shopping mall. Cosmos greatest joy was spending time with his family.
Mr. Greco is survived by one son, Anthony Greco of the Town of Niagara, NY; and was predeceased by his son, Frank Greco. He is also survived by one brother, Alberico (Angela) Greco of St. Catharines, Ontario; two sisters in Italy; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was the brother-in-law of Gaetano and Mary Pizzi of Youngstown, NY.
Visitation will be on Friday from 4-8 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Saturday, March 29th at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM in St. Vincent DePaul Parish at St. Leo's Church, 2748 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
