David "Hammy" Palmer

NIAGARA FALLS — David "Hammy" Palmer of Niagara Falls, died at his residence on Saturday, March 15, 2014. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 13, 1954, the son of Robert and Jean (Johnstone) Palmer of Lewiston.

David was a 1973 graduate of the former LaSalle High School and was employed as a chemical operator at Occidental Chemical. David was an avid golfer, bowler and Harley-Davidson enthusiast. He enjoyed watching all sports, especially the NY Yankees and Buffalo Bills, and also enjoyed camping. Most of all he enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and family, and will always be remembered by his gentle soul and contagious laugh.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by his children, Michael Palmer of Las Vegas, NV;      Shannon (Kenneth) Smith and Anna (Shawn) Watson, all of Niagara Falls, NY; grandchildren, David Palmer and Shawn and Lilliana Watson;  brothers, Brian Palmer of Palm Springs, CA and Iain Palmer of Las Vegas, NV; his former wife, Karen (Musolino) Palmer of Las Vegas, NV; nephews, Steven Palmer of Mississippi and Jason Palmer of Niagara Falls; his aunt, Jeanie Palmer of Niagara Falls; many cousins and extended family in Scotland.

Family will be present Wednesday (March 19) from 2-4 & 7-9 PM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, Inc., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, where funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 AM, with the Rev. Laura Norris-Buisch officiating. Burial will be held at the convenience of the family. If desired, donations may be made the the Salvation Army, 7018 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY 14304.
