Mary A. Russo


Mary A. Russo, 89, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Saturday, May 18, 2013 at The Brothers of Mercy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Clarence, NY. She was born in Niagara Falls, NY, the daughter of the late Delfio and Rosaria (Fiorello) Russo.
Mary was a lifelong resident of Niagara Falls. She was employed at the former Nabisco Shredded Wheat Plant in Niagara Falls and worked there for over forty years until her retirement in 1984. Mary was a devoted member of St. Joseph's Church in Niagara Falls her entire life. She was an active member of their Madonna Del Perpetuo Soccorso Society, Anime Sante Del Purgatoro Society and Senior Citizen Society. Mary truly enjoyed her church life and the ongoing activities it provided her, but most of all, she devoted her life to her family. She was a caretaker for her mother and both of her sisters as their health declined in later years.
Mary leaves behind to cherish her memory one brother, Frank J. Russo of Lewiston, NY; one nephew, Edward F. Russo; and her dear cousins, Frances (late Wiley) Gipson and Mariann (Ed) Tocci and family. She was also predeceased by her two sisters, Frances M. Russo and Josephine Russo.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON FUNERAL CHAPEL, 468-19th Street, Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will begin on Wednesday, May 22nd at 11:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Ave., Niagara Falls, NY.  Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery Niagara Falls, NY.
