Linda J. Walker

TOWN OF WHEATFIELD — Linda J. (Griffin) Walker, long-time resident of the Town of Wheatfield, passed away on Friday, May 3, 2013, at her home, after a brief illness. She was 72. She was born in Buffalo on October 11, 1940, a daughter of the late Paul and Gladys (Bentley) Griffin.

She attended Buffalo schools and graduated from Riverside High School. Linda was the office manager for AM&A's and Bon-Ton for many years, and was a 38-year member and past President of the St. Johnsburg Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.  She enjoyed bingo and trips to the casino, but her greatest joy was her time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Mrs. Walker is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, Robert (Bob) Walker; her two daughters, Wendi Walker of Wheatfield and Laura Walker of Niagara Falls; four grandchildren, Thadis and Kylee Jones, and Jaden and Alvin Baines. She is also survived by her brother, Richard (Florence) Griffin; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother, Thomas (late Delores) Griffin.

Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Ave., on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM, where services will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM, with Pastor Ken Hill officiating.  Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
