Bernice Ficner/Vandeburgh (Ziblut), 92, of Kenmore, NY, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2014 at Brothers of Mercy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center Clarence, NY. Born on January 10, 1922 in Niagara Falls, NY, she was the daughter of the late John and Mary (Drozek) Ziblut and attended local schools.
Bernice was a former member of Prince of Peace Church and was employed for 37 years at the Carborundum Corporation as a secretary until her retirement.
She is survived by her children, Stanley (Deborah) Ficner of Phoenix, AZ, Mary (David) O'Connor of Tonawanda, NY; grandchildren, Brian and Emily Ficner, David and William O'Connor. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and members of the Vandeburgh Family. Besides her parents she was predeceased by her husband's, Stanley Ficner and William Vandeburgh; five brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call on Friday, January 31st from 3-7 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME, INC., 319-24th St. cor. Welch Ave., Niagara Falls, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Parish (Prince of Peace Site). EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Burial following in Holy Trinity Cemetery Lewiston, NY.
