Carol A. Kosut

AMHERST — Carol A. Kosut, 70, of North Tonawanda, NY, passed away on January 26, 2014, at Millard   Fillmore Suburban Hospital in Amherst, NY. Born in Buffalo, NY, she was the daughter of the late Theodore and Nancy (Mancuso) Lichwala.

Carol graduated from Fostic-Masten Park High School in Buffalo, NY in 1962. She became certified as a licensed practical nurse 1972, and was employed at Deaconess Hospital, as well as Buffalo General Hospital until her retirement in 2005. Carol married her loving husband, Richard T. Kosut, on December 28, 1990 in Buffalo, NY. Carol was an extensive traveler and enjoyed her long trips overseas. She also enjoyed ceramic art work. Above all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, Carol is survived by her children, Barbara (Kevin) Hughes of North Tonawanda, NY, John (Lynn) Blair of Clarence, NY, Laurie (Benny) Cordero of Grand Island, NY; her step-children, Amy (Dr. Edward) Petrow of Tuscon, AZ, Stephen Kosut of Tonawanda, NY and Andrew Kosut of Lewiston, NY; her grandchildren, Kevin II, Sean, Connor Hughes, Rachael and Ashley Blair, Emily and Natalyn Cordero, Alison and Grace Petrow; one brother, Gerald Mancuso of Buffalo, NY; her brothers-in-law, Stephen (Patricia), John and Daniel (MaryAnn) Kosut; sisters-in-law, Judith (Gene) Zambarda and Margaret (Ray) Curtis. She is also survived by her cousins and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 29th, from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Thursday, January 30th, at 10:00 AM in St. Raphael's Parish, 3840 Macklem Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, with Rev. Ivan Skenderovic officiating. Interment will be held in White Chapel Memorial Park, Amherst, NY. Memorial offerings may be made to Niagara Hospice, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport, NY 14094.
