Leonard Charles Wagner

LEWISTON — Leonard Charles Wagner, 85, of Youngstown, NY, passed away peacefully Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after a brief illness. He was born July 7, 1928 in Newfane, NY to the late Frank and Hardy (nee Thompson) Wagner.

During World War II Leonard served in the US Army and was stationed in Italy. After his          discharge from the service he went to work as a millwright for the Niacet Corporation and later Globar Corporation, retiring in 1993.

Over the years Leonard also owned and operated Wagner's Inn and Jiffy Appliances. His pastimes included playing bingo and in his earlier years enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting.

Leonard is survived by his son, John (Joyce) Wagner of Lockport, NY; a grandson, Sam         Wagner; one sister, Judy E. (Kaye) Capstick of Niagara Falls, NY; and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his wife, the late Diane (nee Milczarski) Wagner; and two sisters, the late Eleanor Gully and the late Margaret Hinks.

Private funeral services were held January 20, 2014. Interment was in Oakwood Cemetery,        Niagara Falls, NY. If desired, memorials may be made in Leonard's memory to the American Lung Association. Arrangements by SPALLINO-AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY.
