Luther Dean "Bill" Daniels

NIAGARA FALLS — Luther Dean Daniels was born October 3, 1932 in Dozier, AL. He was the son of the late Joseph Reedie Daniels and Lessie Mae (Cox) Daniels.

He graduated from the Covington County Training School in Alabama. He arrived in Niagara Falls, NY in the late 1940s. He was united in holy matrimony to Elizabeth (Myles) Daniels. To this union there was nine children born and one adopted son.

He was employed at Carborundum and retired from Wicker Lumber Company in 1992, after 40 years of service.

He accepted Christ early in life and received the anointed gift of singing. He was a devoted member of the Morning Star Church of God in Christ. He served on the Deacon Board and also on the Trustee Board. He was well-known for his gospel singing throughout Alabama and Western New York. He sang with the Royal Gospel Singers in the early 1950s. Then he later sang with the Spiritual Travelers. He formed his own group with his sons, "The Daniels Brothers," which later became "The Daniels Family" when he added his daughters to the group. He loved gardening and sharing the crop with everyone in the community. He also loved cooking and spending time with his family and friends. One of his favorite sayings was, "You keep on you're going to be as pretty as I am." He always had a way of making you laugh. He will be truly missed by all.

Luther Dean Daniels departed this life on Saturday, October 5, 2013 in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center. He was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Daniels (1992). He leaves to cherish his memory and continue his legacy seven sons and three daughters. Joseph A. Daniels, Marion A. Daniels, Michael D. Daniels (Dorothy), Ricky D. Daniels (Gwendolyn), Clarence J. Daniels (Beverly), Frederick V. Daniels and Timothy L. Jones (Malena); three daughters, Sharon J. Daniels, Linda D. Walker (Charles) and Jacqueline R. Jefferson, all of Niagara Falls, NY. He was predeceased by a sister, Hannah Washington and nephew, Bobby L. Washington. Fifteen grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Visitation, Thursday 6-8 PM in the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, 1334 Calumet Ave. Funeral service, 11 AM Friday in the church. Burial, Riverdale.  Arrangements by WILLIAMSON FUNERAL HOME, 635 Main Street.
