Keith William Schmidli

LEWISTON —

Keith William Schmidli, of Lewiston, died on Wednesday, September 25, 2013 in Mount St. Mary's Hospital following a brief illness. He was 60. He was born in Niagara Falls, NY on October 11, 1952, the son of the late Duane I. and Jean M. (Schultz) Schmidli.
Keith attended local schools, working at Great Lakes Carbon. After an injury, he returned to school earning his Ph.D. from Buffalo State University and teaching there over the past 16 years. An avid collector, he especially enjoyed his vast guitar collection which he has enjoyed jamming with over the years.  He also had a love for cars and car memorabilia.
Survivors include his two "babies" and companion canines, Cassie and Fred; siblings, Ronald Schmidli (Sue) of Florida, Gary Schmidli of Lewiston; his brother-in-law, Stephen Hatch; nieces and nephews, Jason Hatch, Aaron Hatch (Nicole), Stephanie Hatch, Michael Schmidli, Shawn Schmidli, David Schmidli and Jeff Schmidli; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. He was predeceased by a sister, Diane J. Hatch; and a brother, David Schmidli.
Friends may call on Friday from 12-2 PM and 4-6 PM and on Saturday after 10 AM in the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, where Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 12 Noon with Deacon David Slish officiating.  Interment will be in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
