NIAGARA FALLS —
Bernice E. (Malecki) Musilowski, 95 years old, formerly of Niagara Street, passed away on October 17, 2012 at her daughter's home, while under the care of Niagara Hospice, Inc. She was born in Niagara Falls on June 4, 1917, the daughter of the late Paul and Zofia (Gil) Malecki.
Bernice attended Holy Trinity Parochial School,Gaskill Junior High School and Niagara Falls High School. She was employed by the Olin Corporation and worked in clerical and secretarial positions in various departments for 40 years until her retirement in 1982. She was a member of the Olin Retirees Sterling Club, the Holy Trinity Seniors, Ad Astra Group 468, the Polish Roman Catholic Union of America, AARP, and was a Life Member of the Echo Society. She was also a member of the former Lebanon Seniors, the former Holy Trinity Mother's Club and was a former Holy Trinity bingo worker. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, swimnastics, dancing, gardening and card playing.
Bernice is loved by and will be greatly missed by her daughter, Susan (Darryl) Gotowko of North Tonawanda; her son-in-law, Stefan Schmidt of Niagara Falls; her grandchildren, Joseph (Shelley) Schmidt, Stephen (Donna) Schmidt, Maria (James) Werth, Paul (Megan) Gotowko, Brian (Alicia White) Gotowko and Megan (Hector) Carrion. She was the loving Gramma B and GG to nine great-grandchildren. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Bernice was predeceased by her husband, Frank Musilowski, who passed away on October 28, 1977; her daughter, Diane Schmidt; her brother, Stanley Malecki; her sister, Lottie Ward; and her longtime companion, Tano Sulpizio.
Friends may call on Sunday from 2-5 PM at the LABUDA FUNERAL HOME, INC., 356 Portage Road, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:00 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30 AM at Divine Mercy Parish, corner of Niagara and 24th Streets with Rev. Andrew Lauricella officiating. Interment in Holy Trinity Cemetery. A special thank you to DeGraff Day Care and Niagara Hospice for all their care.
